Well our trip has taken a turn with Kathy vomitting again during the night and also suffering from pains just like I had with my gall bladder. We left the B&B and headed to the hospital where Kathy went under a varity of tests. Noel and I stayed until about 11.15am and then decided to go into Lille for lunch and kill some time while Kathy went for a scan.
We had lunch and did some window shopping as Richard sent an sms saying don't rush back to the Hospital. We found a second had book market and we found Noel some science fiction books in english. We had a drink in the square and decided it was time to go back.
We found them and its gall stones. You wouldn't read about it except you are. They are going to keep her in and try giving her intravenous antibiotics overnight. Noel and I rang the B&B in Epernay to cancel and began the job of finding accomodation for the night. This was not an easy task and after muking around and even trying the B&B we where in the night before we had no luck. Eventully 7.30pm we found a room in at the Lille Holiday Inn but no room for Richard.
We went back to the hospital and picked up Richard and saw poor Kathy who was still in a bit of pain. We wished her well and unfortunatly had to leave her there. At least she is the one who can speak some French.
Our wonderful receptionist at the Hoilday Inn found Richard a room at another Hotel so we arranged to pick him up in the morning and visit Kathy.
Next morning we collect Richard and head back to the Hospital and Richard went up and saw Kathy. she was feeling a bit better this morning but they doctors are not happy so they are going to operate today after lunch. I just can't belive it, this was me 3 months ago nearly to the day having the surgery. If I didn't cook that french meal back in January Kathy and I could have been having operations together in France. Kathy and I will have matching scares to remember our holiday to France. Hopefully she will get out Sunday for her Birthday.
We made it to Paris, Richard drove really well in the city thank goodness for Angelina. The car rental place was right in the heart of the city and we could see the Eiffel Tower. We said goodbye to Angelina, got a taxi and headed to the appartment.
Pierre was there to meet us and show us around. We are staying at the Palace Royal which is walking distance from the Louve. The appartment is great and the only thing missing is Kathy. Pierre was great and help us work our how Richard can get the train back to Lille to see Kathy tomorrow which will only take an hour, the train system in europe is wonderful.
The photo is the garden out the front of our appartment.
We went to the supermarket to stock up on supplies and decided just to just veg out and do washing for the afternoon. I think we are all worried about Kathy and feel bad we had to leave her behind in Lille.
Richard talked to Kathy about 3.00pm but she hadn't had the op yet.
