We left Barcelona and set course for San Sebastian. Today of course is the big wedding and our longest drive so we will miss it. We managed to leave the city fairly easily and where soon on the motorway.
The scenery to start with was much like driving to the York Peninsular and this went on for miles. We passed hundreds on windmills and solar farms. The Spanish are odiously into alternative energy.
We where going to go and see the Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar Cathedral in Zaragoza on the way but it was too hard to get off the motorway, we could see the huge steeples from the road so we "got the gist".
The closer we got to the coast we came across Beautiful lush green farm land. We then started climbing into the mountains and it looked like we where back in Austria. Angelina found the hotel and We settled into our rooms.
We headed into the centro of town and walked around the Paseo Nuevo which surounds the Monte Urgull mendia. The views where amazing. We walked around for a while amongst the Parte Vieja and saw the Inglesia Santa Maria Eliza and the Plaza de la Constitucion.
We found the restaurant our hotel receptionist Mikel suggested called La Cepa. They had the cold tapas on the bar like so many of the restaurants/bars do here however we decided to go for the hot tapas as you don't know how long they have been sitting there. We enjoyed the food and I had a couple of sangrias, hopefully they agree with me tomorrow. The tables in the restaurant where display tables and ours had an amazing display of lolly's which looked fantastic.
We stopped for an ice-cream and Katerina found the violet ice-cream we where to full for the other night in Carcassonne. We had to have one of course, nice but nothing to write home about even thought I just have.
We walked around a bit more while we ate our ice-cream then Headed back to the hotel to watch the wedding highlights.
Love San Sebastian it is a very stunning location and we wished we had more time here. thanks Kylie for sending me here. We will walk along the beach in the morning before heading to Lourdes.
